You Deserve Better Perinatal Care
ABOUT BETTY FLORES, LCSW, PMH-C
Meet Betty Flores, LCSW, PMH-C of Perinatal Wellness
Betty Flores, LCSW, PMH-C is a certified perinatal mental health therapist in Utah specializing in postpartum OCD, perinatal anxiety, birth trauma, pregnancy loss, and ERP and EMDR therapy in Millcreek and throughout Utah.
My Story
Early in my career, I worked in inpatient settings with children and adolescents. Pregnancy was actually a positive experience for me. Nothing about it pointed toward this becoming my path.
My postpartum put everything into sharp focus.
As a therapist, I thought I would recognize if something was off, but I didn’t.
Postpartum OCD didn't look or feel the way I expected. I spent too long stuck in loops that never resolved. I reached out for help.
After discontinuing my therapy with a provider who minimized my experience, I ended up white-knuckling my way through the rest of my postpartum period.
That's when it clicked. It wasn't just that I missed it. The system missed it too. If I could feel so unseen and misunderstood, I knew so many other parents were too.
During my second pregnancy, I found Postpartum Support International and completed their basic and advanced perinatal mental health training.
I went on to certify in ERP and EMDR, and eventually opened Perinatal Wellness. I wanted to do this work with the autonomy and depth it deserves.
I don't want others to feel dismissed, confused, or left trying to figure it out on their own. I want it to be different. Clearer. More validating. Actually helpful.
How I Show Up as a Therapist
I lead with respect, safety, and self-awareness. I work to create a space where people can be honest and unfiltered.
I care deeply.
I am invested in the people I work with and genuinely want to see them grow, feel better, and live closer to what actually matters to them.
I'm also direct. I won't just nod along. I'll gently (and sometimes not so gently) point out what's getting in the way. I believe that's part of what makes the work real.
I bring evidence-based approaches, ERP and EMDR, to work that is always relational, never scripted, and focused on forward movement.

She/her/hers. Cisgender. Hispanic. Able-bodied. Thin-privileged.
I believe naming my identities and privilege matters. I can't fully understand every experience, but I am committed to showing up with humility, continued learning, and genuine care for every person who walks through my door.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I'm a mom to two spunky daughters and a partner to my husband.
I've recently found my way back to physical books (my TBR list is a little out of control). Staying active through soccer, flag football, weightlifting, and hiking Utah's outdoors has long been how I care for my own nervous system.
My work and my life are rooted in the same thing: breaking cycles, honoring limits, and showing up as sustainably and authentically as possible.
